Which version of the GTX 660 should I get?

I definitely want to get a GTX 660 card; it's the best card within my budget. Right now, I'm just debating which version to get.

The two in particular that I am interested in are the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB and the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB.

The complaints for the first one is that it can be too loud, and for the second one, there's sometimes a "vibrating" sound due to a loose piece of metal/plastic.

I obviously want a card that performs well, but I'm also interested in a quiet build. My case is the Fractal Design Define R4, which has sound-dampening foam, so I don't necessarily need the card to be even quieter since the case already takes care of that, but it'd be nice. The Gigabyte card has two fans vs. one, so initially I thought it would be louder, but I hear that it's actually quieter? I guess since two fans and no casing means better cooling, so both fans don't have to operate at full blast?

Also, the EVGA seems to be the more popular one, yet the Gigabyte usually has the better reviews.

You need it for mostly DOA, RMA, troubleshooting, etc. For the most part, both cards are very good, their quality is high, you just want which one that you can feel safe with(eg. Customer service, if it is dead a few months later, you can change it without hassle). The performance and acoustic difference will be hardly noticeable.

The Gigabyte has a better cooler in most reviews but the EVGA one have a better customer service. Both will do you good but I would prefer EVGA because I have used both and EVGA customer service are simply better. Anyway, I would recommend saving a little bit more to get the GTX760, the 660 is good and cheap but won't last you long for next gen games. But finally, I would go for the EVGA version.

Regarding customer service, what situations would I need it? I guess mostly for a dead card? I'm just trying to weigh the chances that I will use customer service vs. the quality of the card itself. I understand that customer service is definitely important, though.

both noise levels are quite the same, give or take ~3-4, the difference I believe, aren't noticeable.

The 760 is good for your amount of money, it is almost the same price at $50 more, and it has GPU boost 2.0 instead of 1.0. GPU Boost 2.0 basically overclocks your GPU based on the temperature and makes it so it is like a 670. Get a good cooler too, like a gigabyte windforce edition or an evga acx cooler.

Okay, so I ended up getting the Gigabyte GTX 660. The item has 5/5 stars on Newegg and 4.5/5 stars on Amazon.com, so I thought it would be a good purchase. In terms of performance, the card is great for what I paid. However, one thing that really bugs me is that the fan rattles when the fan reaches certain speeds, so that's incredibly annoying. Some of the reviews pointed this out, too. I eventually sold the card, and am currently without a graphics card, so I'm thinking of getting the EVGA GTX 760 now.
