My computers recently formed a few "quirks" where if you log on too fast the operating system crashes and you need to perform a hard reset...

A few days ago I booted the computer and tried to open an application which was on the Data drive (the WD Green) and the drive had not been recognised... I shut down to inspect the cables (because they are pretty tight), the seemed ok so i rebooted and the drive was back.

Today I booted and windows performed some kind of test on the drive so I decided to use speedfans smart application and saw this \/\/\/

The drive is pretty new and I can easily backup what I have on there.

Thanks!

Well I did all your recommendations and it changed nothing \/\/

I'm going to give the place a call that I ordered the drive from and ask for an RMA.

Oh on a side note, I was just playing Eurotruck sim and the drive shut down in the middle of gameplay. :(

Options:
Reboot, try again.
Use a different SATA cable, try again.
Use a different SATA controller, try again.

If, after any combination of those (at least, the ones you are capable of doing) it still gives you the same results, the drive is soon to be dead. Hopefully you can return it or RMA it.

By different SATA controller, do you mean I should try a different sata port? because both my drives are running on SATA 6gbit/s which I think is using a 3rd part controller... I'm kinda new to computers but changing to the 3gbit ports will not effect my configuration will it?... I had bad experiences messing with HDDs inside old 90s hardware (although I've found Sata is very simple vs the older IDE connection)
