Hi the experts of the community,

I had very good information last time so I'm back in the forum to ask some questions about upgrading my
Gateway gt 5056 (I know...its an old computer...but got windows 7 and now total memory is 2gig)
So somebody gave to me a big lcd screen without vga but only HDMI and my gateway Gt 5056 GPU has no HDMI outpout and is not suitable to decode HD(nvidia 6100)(try many video player tweaking settings....)
The processor is quite good(2ghz) and I'm sure with a graphic card that handle hd I will enjoy again my old computer.
I know most of the people will recommend to buy a new computer but maybe for 50 or 70 bucks I don't need to.
But the problem is that I haven't the faintest idea about which graphic card I have to buy(if there is still one) that can handle hd with HDMI output.

Here is the link of the computer characteristics

I try to look on google to find a compatible graphic card with my computer but so far no clue:(

So guys I count on you to find the graphic card I'm looking for:)
Thanks in advance,

Thanks again Jinayhvora

Won't be a problem with my 300w alim? Not better to try to buy low profile video card?(around 50 dollars)
And is there any video card more around 50 dollars you will recommend instead of the one you choose?

Sorry to bother you with my odd question....

And after it means i will have 2 video card(GPU+pciexpress) working together??(no problem with conflict?)
Or should I have to do something to disable the GPU nvidia 6100?
This is tricky for me.

just read that sometimes you can disable the onboard gpu on the bios.Thats a nice feature:)

last (i hope !)what do you think about this video card in terms of price power in comparison of the one you recommend?(i suppose its compatible with my gateway gt 5056)
The main goal is to be able to enjoy HD movies(1080p) without problem and to play some games not in mid resolution(not a big fan of hd gaming)

I thought low profile doesn't need to much power to process and consume less?

Your card on amazon says minimum power supply 350 w
and the one I look says minimu 300w
And my power supply is 300w only...

Hi ihog,
Nice cat smile:)
let me explain briefly.I'm moving to madagascar soon and we may be evacuated at any time so that's why I want to slightly upgrade my ooold desktop with a graphic card that can help my 2.0 ghz processor to decode hd video (1080p) without any trouble. The point is I don't want to begin to change everything(better to buy a new one in that case) because I may have to leave the country without the computer:(
I thought low profile doesn't need a big power supply. if you have some advice for a compatible video card that can deal with hd video without the need of too much watts let me know:)

Hi byogamingpc,
Looks like this card is maybe the best value between price power and compatibility:)
I would have preferred to spend not much than 50 bucks indeed:(

But thnks for finding this gem anyway:)

Unless I'm mistaken, that's a BTX form factor motherboard. Given the location of the motherboard's power connection port, it appears that only single slot graphic cards will fit. All PCI Express graphic cards will fit in the slot, but the cooling fan/heat sink of a dual slot card would block the required motherboard power connection.

This EVGA Geforce GT620 would work for you.
