Hello everyone! I am going to build a gaming PC and im unsure of what CPU/GPU combo to get .

The reason i only got those two options is because those are the only ones that will fit in my budget. I'm from sweden so the prices is a bit different.

I will OC the AMD CPU since it's unlocked and because i can ^^

I also get 2 games if i buy the GTX660. Everything points to getting the AMD/GTX660 combo but my only concern is if i will bottleneck it?

Go i5. You won't regret it. That 6600k will become a bottleneck.

The 6600K will not bottleneck a GTX 660. However, since you are in Sweden, have you considered the Athlon II X4 760K (it is a 6800K without the integrated GPU) instead of the 6600K since you are going with discrete graphics?

Alternatively, go with a FX-6300.

Why bother going with AMD? It will become a bottle neck at some point. Go with the i5 and it will last twice as long.

It's becuase AMD is alot cheaper, i'm not planning to keep the same system for 10 years. I will upgrade it in 2 or 3 years ofc so i dont need the AMD cpu to last insanely long

Didn't you say both setups were in your budget?

Have you entertained the idea of going with a 7 series Radeon? They tend to be better bang for your buck.

At least know what you are talking before you spread your fanboy rhetoric...

idk why but the gtx 660 is cheaper than radeon 7850 here, and with better benchmarks results according to this webside http://tinyurl.com/9pvedys.

Not a fanboy. I went the AMD way and was horribly disappointed. Will never go back.

After some web browsing im convinced to go for an Athlon II X4 760K, ive got some left over money thanks to it.

Just a few more questions, what chipset would you recommend for overclocking the CPU and do you think i should put the extra money on a better GPU card?

A85X > A75 > A55

Pick the one that best fits your budget(should stick to A75 or A85X). You have the option of getting a better cooler for the CPU or going with a better GPU with the extra funds. Since you are overclocking, pickup a HD 7870 or HD 7870 XT instead of the GTX 660 since they have much greater overclock overhead.

Completly forgot the aftermarket CPU cooler, thx for reminding me!

With an aftermarket CPU cooler ill still have some leftover money from my budget but not enough to upgrade to radeon 7870. GTX 660 will be good enough for me.

Thank you for the help!:D
