Hey guys this is my first post so bare with me here haha, every so often when i power down my PC it pops up stating that it ran into an error and needed to collect data and restart the error is linked to NTFS_SYSTEM_FILE which i know is related to the HDD, i have scanned for viruses and defragmented multiple times and error check to no avail any idea how to solve this? thanks!

Solution
from an administrator command prompt* type in
chkdsk c: /f

it will then ask if you want to schedule it for the next time the system starts up. Answer yes and reboot when your ready.

* to get to this I beleive its windows key+x
Rt click on Command prompt
click on 'Run as Administrator'

The only error message it shows is a blue screen with a frownie face that says windows has encountered an error and is needed to restart your system effected file: NTFS_SYSTEM_FILE and there is only the option to error check the drive in windows 8.
