hello guys .... i currently have 2 2x ssd samsung 840 120gb ssd`s in raid 0 . I had 3 but gave one away .... i need another storage device and can`t make up my mind about buying a 1 tb 7200 rpm 64mb buffer hdd or another ssd 120 gb to go 3x raid 0 .... with 3x i get 1300 read speeds and with 2 i get 900 read .... i know its a big diff from 100 mb/s to 500 but my question is , would i feel a BIG difference from 900 mb/s to 1400 mb/s random read ?

If money is no object, and the faster option would give you the space you need, get the faster option. The only caveat is that you have to make sure your motherboard has 3 6Gb/s ports. What is your motherboard model? I suppose the south bridge also needs to directly support raid 0 with three ports. Some models only support raid for 2 ports.

nothing special .... some gameplay maybe some mmorpg ... i could manage with a total of 360 gb of storage IF that read difference would be noticable .... someone told me that its not a big diff from 900 to 1300 .... but from 100 to 500 it is , and yea that is normal ... so what do you say ? btw money is out of the question because its the same price for both :)

I already had 3x ssd and that is when i recorded the 1290 mb/s random read speed with crystaldiskmark . I gave 1 ssd to my brother , he was telling me that 900 to 1290 is not noticable in video games ... I have asrock extreme 4 z87 .
