Question regarding noise/sound

I have a large subwoofer to go with my system (from an old dell computer we had) and whenever I turn on my computer, it makes a loud "pop" kind of noise, like it's booting up or something. I would rather it not do that. Any idea on what this is?

That noise is just your speakers powering on. It's loud because its a big subwoofer.

I just leave my subwoofer/amp always On. Are you talking about the power switch on your Sub or are you getting the pop on a PC restart?

@Skit75 - on the pc restart or whenever I wake it up from sleep. And then sometimes my computer will awaken itself at 3AM to do updates and it's loud.

Is the pop only coming from the sub or it is coming from your other channels also? Does it happen with your volume all the way down also and is this onboard/integrated audio?
