Hello, I am repairing a laptop for a customer and have come across a problem. The Laptop is a HP DV9000 with Nvidia G graphic chip and the Intel socket is PGA479M. I installed the board to a tee ... everything connected and went to press power and all I got was 1 flash and it will not power on. I immedialtly checked the Ram just to be sure i didd'nt forget ti install. Went back and checked that all cables and ribbons were connected. Took the board back out and checke to be sure that the screw on the socket was tightened. Removed the CPU ( Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5550 ) checked the socket with magnifier glass and it reads as a PGA479M. Went back to the old board and that socket is a PGA478MN .. I researched the CPU world site and it states as far as I can read, that the CPU I have which is the (Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5550 ) - will not work with the socket PGA479M. So my question is, is the most likley problem for the power not turning on the wrong CPU ? And Im wondering if someone can check the data on this. I just want to verify that the Centrino T5550 CPU will not work with socket PGA479M .. And I would like to see if someone can provide a link of compatible CPU's for this socket.. Thanks for any help, I have to get this customers laptop back to her by Thursday hopefully.. Thanks !!

Most of the information needed to find a compatible cpu is in this link http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20479%20(mPGA479M).html the rest you already have of you know what cpu was in it originally. In order to get to the site you'll need to copy the address and paste it into the address bar the parathesis seems to be screwing with the link.
