Hello. After upgrading my build I have to transfer my cpu and heatsink to a new motherboard. The cpu went in fine and I noticed the motherboard didn't have threads for my "screw in" heatsink. I looked at my original motherboard and noticed a backplate which had threads. I unscrewed the cpu bracket to remove the cpu backplate. I am planning on removing my new motherboard's backplate and replacing it with the old backplate. I have 2 concerns: 1. The old mobo had plastic pieces that probably protect it from short circuiting. They won't come off. Are they necessary? 2. Is removing the new mobos backplate even safe? By the looks of it I'm going to have fun finding a tip for the screws.
