The reason I ask this question is because this is my first build (and first post on this site) and I happened to notice something in the details for the blackhawk on newegg, "NOTICE: Please make sure your motherboard equipped with on-board USB 3.0 socket before purchasing." I'm not exactly sure what this means and didn't want to buy a mobo just to have it not fit my case. I was looking at the biostar TA970 AMD ATX AM3+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138372

It means your case has a USB 3.0 port, but in order to be able to use it, it needs a special plug on the motherboard. One that your motherboard does not appear to have when I look at it`s product page: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=623#spec

It is only specifying usb 2.0 headers onboard, not 3.0. (it does have usb 3.0 jacks on the back I/O panel, just no headers on the motherboard for wiring the front case panel.)

The board will still fit in your case. All this means is, you will have a usb 3.0 port on the front of your case which you will not be able to use. However there are adapters you can purchase if this is an issue for you.
