I recently built a new gaming platform on a adequate budget, but unfortunately when i tried to power it up for the first time, absolutely nothing happened.

All cables are hooked up, all components are in the right slot but one bad thing is i need to buy new ram due to my current sticks not fitting the mobo, but even then the bios should at least pop up and give me the beep error.

My specs are as follows
CPU : Intel core I5 3330 ivy
Mobo : ASRock z75 Pro3 LGA 1155
GPU : XFX radeon 7850 1gb
PSU : Dynex 520w
Case : RAIDMAX Seiran ATX-902WB

Thanks much for your time

So you have no RAM at all on the board? Motherboards won't even POST without memory installed. No POST, no BIOS. You won't get video either. Do you have a PC speaker installed? If you don't you won't even hear the beeps.

Once you get the RAM though, I would definitely replace that power supply. On top of being the bare minimum for your setup, it's also a Dynex, which is consistently rated among the absolute worst quality brands for power supplies. The power supply is never something you should skimp on. Get a 600-650w Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, Thermaltake, hell even an XFX would be better.

You got your facts mixed up. XFX power supplies are MADE by Seasonic and makes top-notch PSUs. On the other hand, Thermaltake makes horrible ones, just ask anyone else.

Ah, my info must be out of date on the XFX. But I've owned a few Thermaltake and I've never heard anyone who's had bad luck with them. They are one of the less expensive brands that's actually not a piece of crap. Have friends with them who've been running strong for years. No issues. It's no Corsair, but it's definitely no Dynex O_O
