thoughts/criticism on my first build?

Solution
you should go for the 7950 its better and priced the same. also i have that keyboard it is expensive but i love it. and if you dont plan on adding another gpu then you should get a lower watt psu about 550 will do for your build even if you overclock

1) what are the benefits of the 7950 over the 760?

2) my friend has the same keyboard and i love it so i'm willing to pay the price

3) i would like to have some headroom for later on if i do add another gpu

a 550 watt PSU as stated above but i do favor the 760 myself, i enjoy physX effects in gaming too much. but a proper overclocked 7950 does win all battles compared to the 760.

edit saw your reply, a 750 watt PSU is enough for two graphic cards. unless your overclocking a pair of 7970s.

5 fps doesn't really make me wanna change my mind i am a big fan of physx also and i trust sli and nvidia drivers more than amd from what i've seen

i do appreciate the suggestion though and will look into 7950s more before making my final purchase

I'm in the same boat as you right now, I want a 760 even though I know that the 7950 is better and I am planning on getting another one in the future. Its the same reason why i got the keyboard, I could have gotten a cheaper cherry mx blue mechanical keyboard but I trusted razer and I knew I wouldnt be happy with any other one

The case is fine, but I prefer Corsair's 300R, and you can save money. Also don't forget a gaming mouse, Logitech's G400 is what I use, but you may prefer the Razer Deathadder if you favor Razer peripherals. Trust me, sensor quality and extra keys are worth it for 40-60 bucks. And for a lower wattage Psu, I prefer the Corsair Gs or Tx series.

Enjoy Building!

I'd recommend getting some RAM that's 1600 CL9, because you will actually see a difference between that and 1333 (in some things) and there are plenty of 8GB kits that are cheaper than the ones you listed. Not sure if you're married to those heat spreaders, but even if so, it shouldn't run too much more.

You had me, then you lost me. If it's because sensor size (dpi) I'm gonna say 8200 is excessive but usable to some. But DO NOT buy the Krypton. The logitech G500s is way better, same price, everything.
