AMD A10 6800K v MSI RADEON 7850 1GB

As the title says really
I am wondering which would produce better graphics - the onboard GPU on the AMD A10 6800K or the graphics on the MSI RADEON and also by how much it would be better

Solution

well, the 7850 by a mile. Nearly any discrete card would beat the GPU on the A10.
The 7850 will blow it out of the water, I would imagine at least twice as fast and then some!!!! There are no real comparisons though, so it's hard to judge exactly how much the difference.

Even though it's the 1gb and not the 2gb GPU?!?

The memory size won't have much impact. Wanderer is correct there. And yes, similarly I would say no point with 1gb model when 2gb is the same price.

But just to illustrate, if you had 2gb Onboard GPU and a 1gb 7850, the 7850 would eat it alive in every scenario.

The integrated Radeon HD 8670D with DDR3 2133MHz RAM is only as powerful as a Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 graphics card which only has on average 74% of the performance of a Radeon HD 6670 with DDR5 RAM.

To put that into context, the Radeon HD 8670D / Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 is halfway between the performance of a Radeon HD 5570 and Radeon HD 5670.

I would have to say that if you play any games and you want to max out the graphics, then you should consider buying the 2GB version of the Radeon HD 7850 if you can afford to do so. There are some games where 1GB can be somewhat of a bottleneck when playing at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 resolution.

For example, GTA IV is a poorly optimized game. With only a 1GB on a powerful graphics card you will only be able to use a mix of medium & high settings.

Another example if Skyrim especially with the high resolution texture pack. From time to time the game would stutter with my 1GB Radeon HD 5850 because there is not enough RAM on the graphics card to load all the textures. Dropping the texture quality down to medium instead of high solved that issue. There are also community developed graphic mods that can push RAM usage on the GPU to 3GBs.

For most games a GPU with 1GB is still fine for 1920x1080 / 1200 resolutions. My next upgrade will be a 2GB graphics card.

Also which would be better: the onboard graphics from the amd a10 6800k crossfired with the Sapphire 2gb AMD Radeon HD 7750 or the graphics on the msi radeon 7850 1gb? And would it be a significant difference in graphics performance?

Your referring to hybrid Crossfire, and I would still say the 7850 would beat that setup in most scenarios too. If they were 2 x 7750 id say it might be different. They would be more of a match for a single 7850.

There is no chance the integrated Radeon HD 8670D + Radeon HD 7750 would come close to a single Radeon HD 7850. As I mentioned before the Radeon HD 8670D's performance with DDR3 2133MHz RAM is halfway between a Radeon HD 5570 and HD 5670. The Radeon HD 7750 basically is equivalent to a Radeon HD 5770 / HD 6770 (same card, different name). The difference in performance between the Radeon HD 8670D and a Radeon HD 5770 / HD 6770 / HD 7750 is significant enough to say that in my opinion, the combo of the Radeon HD 8670D and Radeon HD 7750 will only give around a 10% (15% at best) boost in performance.

However, two Radeon HD 7750 DDR5 XFired together will overall be pretty close in performance to a single HD 7850.
