so I've been running eyefinity off a 6950 2gb for a while and the whole process has been plagued with annoyances. monitors that 'aren't compatible', issues with mini display port connections/adaptors and endless battles with the ccc setting up and maintaining presets.

What i'd like is if people that have been running surround, or preferably have run both, can tell me what it's like to live with? am I likely to have less troubles with it?

More about : nvidia surround eyefinity live

I suppose it would be like sticking a vertical black strip over the centre of each eyeball... but that's not what you were after :-)

i think you have been doing something wrong if you are saying monitors that are not compatible.

sounds more like you want to do a fresh install of your drivers by using driver fusion to clean everything away.

no it was definitely that, spent a very long time trying different adaptors, to finally have a technician use remote access to try to figure out the issue. He said the viewsonics tend to give quite a bit of trouble when trying to run with the DP adaptors. with me being orderly I had 3 identical monitors, so sold one and replaced it with an aoc and voila.
