Within device manager

If you right click on the drive and open the properties
Try removing the current driver from the device

Then restart windows the USB stick should take drivers from windows.

It didn't work. The driver G could not be removed. The device continues apearing with the name v165w in the icons of devices and printers, but no in the windows explorer. When I try to open this drive in MS-DOS, it respond that the device is not prepared.

Sorry I didn't make it clear how to get to it.

If you go to Start > control panel > view by small icons in the top right hand corner
Then click device manager

Look for your device there if its not listed Look for a device with an yellow background try what I said earlier by right clicking uninstalling the driver

Dears "The C" and "Ionewolf7" thanks you very much for yous advices, but until now it have been unfruitful. I have proved a lot of Data recovery programs: TestDisk, Wondershare, 7Data-recovery-suite, Recuva, drw-free, Restoration, Freeundelete... The best results were obtained by ADRC, because it detected the G drive and dictaminate that it is unable to open the disk boot sector. This sector have an utility for write a new boot sector for the pen drive, but I am afraid to use it without a deep knowledge; this migth be the last solution. Perhaps is a better solution to run the instalation software of the v165w for the pendrive, but I don't have it; do you? In the HP page I didn't find.

Unfortunately there is no drivers for this hp product because all the drivers are provided by windows.

I would write a new boot sector but I'd wait to see what other people on here say before writing it.
