Let's start with the specs:
Motherboard/CPU/etc:
Intel D945GTP mobo
Pentium D 3.4
3GB RAM
HDD:
Hitachi DeskStar
500 GB Sata 3
My motherboard won't see the drive when I plug it into any of the 4 available sata ports, but it works just fine on the IDE with an IDE/SATA adapter. I'm a bit new to sata devices, and I'm not completely certain that the drive is powering up when connected to the sata port....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
PS: just thought, my backup drive (usb) has a sata connect... should try that too.
