Alright so a while back I got a computer that windows 8 installed onto it. Now my friend is building a new computer wants to sell his computer. I want to buy it, but I need to know one thing. Because he has windows 7, would putting my HDD in his computer cause a problem with windows?

So... you wanna use your current hdd with the Windows 8 installation on it in the desktop you might be buying from your friend? It will probably work, but i don't recommend doing it due to driver conflicts and all that. If you simply want to use your friend's Windows 7 installation and use your hdd as a data drive, that's no problem.

Depends on what situation you're looking to achieve. In the first case you'd be putting the hard drive you're currently using in your friend's PC, see if it boots up and work with that (I do not recommend this). Second case you'd hook up your current drive as well, but just make sure to set the BIOS to boot up from the hard drive that's already in there, with the Win 7 installation. You could then get the data you want/need from your own hard drive and format it afterwards, so you have a clean drive.
