Is this a good gaming motherboard

Solution
If you go with the EVO as your cooler, can't beat it, I've used over a hundred of them on builds, don't worry about the DRAM or size, the Fan height is adjustable (can also add a second fan to the back (it comes with a mounting bracket for a 120mm fan)), I'm running the tall GSkill Tridents (32GB 2400) under mine on my Z77 and a set of Ripjaws under it on my SB build

You'll need an aftermarket CPU cooler if you want to overclock - go for the Hyper 212 Evo, which works well on Ivy Bridge. That motherboard is also a good choice, and you'll be able to overclock well with it. :) As you will probably be getting a cooler, whether it be now or later, I suggest you get this ram instead, so it doesn't interfere with the aftermarket heatsink: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cml8gx3m2a1600c9
