Will this GPU and mobo work together?? Please help!!

Hi everyone,
I am building my first custom PC and I brought this mobo GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H. I also brought this GPU card just because I thought it would be needed to watch a blu-ray sometimes. ASUS GT630-2GD3 GeForce GT 630 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card. I need to know if these two will work together? I am using this computer for audio production. I am not a gamer. I brought it for the purpose of being able to watch a blu-ray movie and hook up two 23" monitors and a TV when I want to watch a blu-ray. Is this ok or do I need to look at something else? Or did I waste money buying it cause it is not needed? I got the video card in the mail today. The mobo will be here tomorrow. I am building a Intel i7 4770k system just for audio production.

  1. Yeah, that card should work just fine. There appears to be no reason why it wont.

Yep they are both compatible as the motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot.
  3. Cool. How many monitors will i be able to use at one time? I am new to this. Thanks for the reply.
  4. You should be able to use 3 on that card.
  5. Three is pushing it. YOU may be able to but it will be very hot and you could see side effects such as screen tearing etc. I recommend you stick to two.
  6. Two monitors are the limit for me I just wanted to make sure I can use two at one time. When I want to use a TV screen I will unhook one of the monitors and hookup the TV. Is there a way to use the GPU on the mobo along with the Gt 630? Or does one cancel out the other? Like say if I were trying to run three at one time could I use the mobo GPU for the TV and the GT 630 for the monitors all at once?
  7. Only the discrete or onboard at any one time.
  8. Thanks!
