Unexpected Shutdown with PC

So I was on the computer and there was a thunderstorm outside followed by a power outage afterwards and the PC shut off randomly. Was any damage to the hardware caused? I have forgotten to unplug the computer before the power came back on, and I do have a power bar that's from 360 Electrical, but I'm not sure if it has a surge protector.

That would depend on how well your surge protector worked. You do have a good quality surge protector between your PC and the wall outlet, right?

Not probably because you 'lost power'. Most likely it was a improper shutdown and Windows will complain about it and ask to check the system on the next boot up.
