ASUS KCMA-D8 Server board problem...

July 10, 2013 7:31:39 PM

The heatsinks and fans were the last parts for the build needed. They showed up this morning.

I get them mounted properly, check all my connections...I press the on button.

The system fans start to spin and a chip on the board pops and burns.

The chip's number/name is:
F90
P02
CEI0721 (or it might be CE10721).

The chip is located proximate to the board's headers for "Front Fan" 3 and 2.

I am NOT turning anything back on again until I know what that chip is that just blew up. What is it? Am I going to have to RMA the board?
