I'm getting a motherboard with 4-3.0 usb ports and 2-usb 2.0 and it has the deminsions 12" x 8.6"(ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard). Can anyone recommend a good with lots of fans (I plan to game) and a couple ports. Also I want an optical drive, a card reader, and a hard drive. Thanks

Are you looking more for a case that has fans that have lights or are you looking more towards a case that just has a lot of airflow. Also, do you have the model number of the board you are looking at if its a standard atx board 99 percent of cases will be able to house it.

Oh god what would one do with something large like a cosmos case :p I do agree though a haf series case would be a good way to go. Cooler Master does a great job with there haf series there 912 for budget and 932 for your standard atx go with something like the HAF X as well judging by the dimensions that you have listed its a standard ATX board and you are open to any case really withstanding ITX, Micro ATX.

Cooler Master HAF 912+ or HAF 912 Advanced ( has USB 3 ports on the case instead of USB 2). Using them for years. The one sitting next to me is almost 4 years old. Stock front and rear exhaust fans still working and they have not become noisy. Options for top exhaust and side intake. Slots for 4 optical drives/fan control or whatever you wish, or 3 of them + smaller card reader. Removable HDD cage with 4 drives, 2 more drives in the non-removable below. Solid build, easy assembly, lots of space for cable management. The HAF 912 is still the one of the best price/performance cases out there. If you like the looks, then cooling won't be a problem.

If you don't like the HAF then I can suggest Enermax Ostrog GT. Cooling is simmilar to the HAF. I really like the aesthetics of the Ostrog but the side window made me go away. I don't like side windows but that is a personal preference. I haven't build a system with the Ostrog GT but a friend is quite happy with it. Good luck.

I'm not a big fan of lights but I would like a clear side panel and it should have a good amount of airflow.

There are a few cases I would recommend to you. The Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 It has a windowed side panel made of solid construction not a cheap made case by any stretch. There is also the Fractal Design Define R4 with a window. I personally would go that route if you were to get a case with a Window much the same with the R2 however with the R4 you get a non tinted window side panel and you get sound dampening padding on the side panel and top if you aren't using the fans. Also what I like about the R4 is that it also had sound dampening for the front door of the case. Both cases have good air flow. The Arc Midi R2 more so because it has ventilation on the top and front in ways the R4 does not.

The 300R isn't a bad selection as well my only complaint with it is that there window panel has 2 fans on the window. 2 Fans which are in the middle of the panel as well. Which won't make for a very clean look as you'll have to route the cables somewhere :p

Both of the cases in the Fractal line come with dust filters as well.
Fractal Design Define R4 w/ window (keep in mind that this case comes in different colors white, titanium grey, and black pearl one may be cheaper then the next)

I guess a lot of it is down to personal preference. I have a Thermaltake Overseer RX-1. Most people say its ugly as hell but I like it. The airflow out the box seems really good too. You get 2 200mm fans as standard, one at the front and one on the top, upgradable to 4 200mm fans, that's another on the top and one on the side pointing at the graphics card.

It also has a side window too. It has good cable management inside and the build quality seems good too, though the plastics aren't that great.

Bit-tech score it pretty well too when it comes to temperatures. For the price that is.

Isn't that the truth its very very personal preference. Here is what I'm using the R4 I didn't get the window though. I liked having a more professional looking case versus something you look into for show.

Go for Corsair 400R or 500R. Lights can be turned off when wanted. Moreover stock fan LEDs are white and don't appear to be flamboyant. You simply cannot get a good airflow than 500R at its price.
