i had windows 7 for a while on SATA 1TB i also had another ATA hdd with os x on it and had dual boot it was running perfect then i installed windows 8 instead of 7 and the other HDD wasnt attached it booted fine and worked alright later i attached the ATA HDD and windows will no longer boot it gives blue screen says we are sorry you have problem booting system will restart and so on, and it also runs a repair sometimes when i try too many times

i thought it was the mac os x so i got another hdd also ATA , it was formated in windows 7 installation but it has no windows on it, and it gave me same error

i tried to play around with bios boot settings but got no where it just wont boot the windows 8
although it did boot the mac os x fine, and also windows 7 didnt have problems with my second hdd or my bios setup

MOBO is EP41 gigabyte
windows hdd is 1tb Sata with windows 8 pro
second hdd is now 150gb ATA

i searched the web but only thing i got is if windows 8 installed on EFI it doesnt boot with extended/logical partition is connected ... i checked my 1tb sata its MBR

Solution
fixed it by replacing the SATA IDE of the DVD to the same channel as HDD
they are next to each other instead of on top of each other
ALTHOUGH when i connect a third SATA device it wont read any of them in the table before windows .. never got to windows
but it reads them in OS X boot funny huh
