hello i had the GA-970A-UD3 with an amd fx 6300
and im going for an i5 3570K.
I really dont know anything about PCs,
so could you suggest a motherboard for this CPU for around 120-130 euros?
I also have a coolermaster hyper 212 evo but i guess it fits right?

(I have a midi tower coolermaster rc-333 midi, corsair vengeance 1600 2x4gb, gigabyte 7870 ghz edition, corsair builder v80+ 600W)

oh you can look here for the prices

I am sorry I am not able to edit my older post so have to write a new one.

I would advise you to overclock your current processor for now and wait for Steamroller to come. When it would arrive, see the comparison charts and benchmarks between Haswell and Steamroller. Buy the one you think is better. :)

At the moment this seems to be the best idea to me.
He is talking about third generation AMD FX CPU Series.

First Generation was Bulldozer (Zambezi). Second Generation is Piledriver (Vishera). Third Generation would be Steamroller.

And Intel CPUs always have better per core performance than AMD so I would say go for it.

One more thing, do not get Extreme4. It out of your budget. You can either get Pro4 or Extreme3.

I would suggest Extreme3 in here.

Why? What makes you say that?

Edit: Let me put it this way. Using American prices you are looking at $220 for the 3570K, plus at least another $120+ for a good board. This means you will be spending $340 or so to upgrade to the 3570K. Unless you really need that CPU speed, I don't believe it's worth it to spend that much to get the 3570K.

I wonder what else option is there.

GPU Crossfire would most likely result in trouble (Micro Sluttering / Black Screens).
So to increase frame rates a better CPU is the only remained choice.

Another option is to add an SSD but that would not result in FPS increase but just desktop and windows performance would increase. See if you are able to figure out anything else to be upgraded without GPU getting in dustbin or getting sold out.

That he isn't taking his system into account. When looking at review sites they normally use a 4C/8T CPU OC'd often to at least 4.5GHz. Yes, unless you have a similar CPU your scores won't be as good. If his system is "not so strong" because when he compares his frame rates they aren't as high as reviews sites then he better be willing to OC a 3770K or 3930 to the same levels.

A 6300 and 7870 should provide playable frame rates (45+, if not 60) in most games. But if he is looking for 60FPS in Crysis 2 with everything maxed, he isn't going to get there. But its the fault of the 7870, not the 6300.

What about planetside 2? It's hard to say what's going on if we don't know.

As for prices it will be cheaper then buying a CPU and a motherboard. Hard to say exact prices but probably similar to what AMD has out now. I think I saw a price cut on the 8350 the other day so whatever they name it will probably be around $200-$250. I think you aren't in the USA so no clue about Grease? (.gr)

Intel would be the way to go, everybody is talking about SteamRoller coming out, yet they did the same with BullDozer and Piledriver, both of which were susts when it came to gaming vs Intel CPUs (older Intel CPUs) the PileDriver was only about on a par with the older, older 2500K and smashed by the 3570K in everything but video rendering...and the Haswell grinds the 8350 down another notch...they say third times a charm ;) and I hope Steamroller lives up to it's hype at least a little, but chances are it will be on a par with the 3570K and still behind the 4670K which is already out

to be clear guys
I just wanted to reroll to Intel because i think they provide better performance and quality. But it will me cost 350 euros. ( minus the 130 euros that i will get from selling the current mobo+cpu)
Then again getting an FX 8350 will cost me 200. (minus , lets say 70 for selling my FX 6300 only)

Or i could just wait like that guy said for the new AMD ones?

You should definitely do it.

It is very easy, you just have to raise multiplier in bios. It takes hardly 5 minutes including restarts. :)
Stability tests come into account if you are doing extreme overclocking which you aren't.

Just get it to 4.5 GHz and you are good to go.

Edit : Raise multiplier to 45x to get 4.5 GHz provided your FSB is 100 MHz.
