Afternoon all,

I know there are a lot of enthusiasts here who have far more knowledge on hardware than I ever will do so I was hoping one of you would check this build for me.

http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/ce74a2696c344ec98a51e4989526bd48

What I plan to do with it is put it in my living room under my TV and connect it to said PC with a HDMI cable for playing games on, primarily Total War games in preparation for Total War: Rome 2. Graphically, I would like to get High settings - ultra isn't the end of the world for me. I believe this will be enough to beat my consoles graphics anyway.

The TV is a 32" Samsung LCD at 720p. Will upgrade that in the future to approx 40" at 1080p.

Any advice on parts, price, etc are appreciated. I have tried to fit it all in micro ATX so it sits under my TV and looks nice and small etc and keeping the noise down is key too.

The thing that concerns me most is parts not fitting together or fitting in the case. Reassurance would be nice!

Thanks :)

I would change your memory to LN48374, PSU to LN46839, SSD to LN49407, thermal compound to LN14063.

This shaves off enough money to change your graphics card to LN51653 which is a GTX 760. The GTX 760 is faster in Total War: Shogun 2 than the GTX 660 and the GTX 660 Ti.

I doubt you would notice these substitutions. The change of the graphics card will give a noticeable improvement.

A 12.9% increase in Total War : Shogun 2 at 1920 x 1080 at Ultra settings - 54 fps rather than 41.8 fps with the GTX 660 (information taken from another site).

Thank you for the recommendation. I have changed the graphics card but considering the price only just breaks my £750 budget I think I will live with it. The new system is this:

Do you think I am going overkill on the case or is that one a good choice? Are there any other areas you would tweak (I believe your other changes were to make the 760 fit my budget and would were very insignificantly inferior)

I don't think the case is overboard since your putting it under your tv. It's also had good reviews.

It looks like a good system for the money. Anymore spent on it and you're looking at diminishing returns.

I think you've struck the right balance.
