Greetings, I have an older system and it nicely runs just about anything that I need to do or use.

I have Win7 64bit installed and these are the components:
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor BX80562Q6600
- Western Digital WD Blue WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
- Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory ...
- XCLIO Amazing Fan - 12cm 120mm Red, Blue, Green & Random LED Case Fan
- Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
- CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible ...
- XFX Double D HD-685X-ZDFC Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video ...

I use regularly Microsoft Office, CorelDraw Suite X6, Finale 2011, Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium.

I am considering boosting the ram a bit and/or maybe a new HD. Would I notice any difference though?

If so, I would welcome any suggestions as I really haven't kept up on pc hardware since I built this system.

Thank you for your time and any assistance you might be able give.

There are some upgrades that you could do to improve performance, but your system is a bit dated and these upgrades may not be worth the cost. DDR2 memory is expensive and a new HD would give you minimal gains. I would focus on the things that you can take on to the next build like an SSD. Not sure if you are gaming, but a GPU would carry forward also.

Looking toward a new build, plan on reusing your case, power supply, and possibly GPU depending on what you are doing game wise...
