Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I didn't have a clue on where to put it as I didn't know what the problem would be classified as, but onward we must go.

Stock Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6100 @ 3.3GHz (SIX CORE)
GPU: Radeon HD 7450
Motherboard: M3970AM-HP (Angelica)
RAM: 10GB DDR3
PSU: HP Brand 232W

Now I recently wanted to upgrade my Graphics Card along with my Power Supply so I purchased both:

GPU: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 2GB GDDR5
PSU: Blue Star 680W 20+4-pin ATX Power Supply w/SATA & PCIe

I know the Power Supply isn't the best of quality, I just wanted something to get me by for a couple of months until I could spend a decent amount of money on another one.

The issue I'm having with the parts:

When I put all the new parts in the computer boots then it goes to install the registry files for the new card then without warning or error the computer shuts down. I'm not sure if this is a Power Supply issue (may I note this is the second power supply that done this) or a motherboard issue. When I turn the computer on everything appears to run correctly (fans/lights turn on as usual) so I am still confused about the computer shutting down randomly.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Solution
Boot into safe mode, install the 7870's drivers manually (don't let Windows install the drivers automatically), and boot up. See how that goes.
