Need something better to cool my cpu

Got my case yesterday, it's a nanoxia deep silence 1 and i have gotten my corsair af 120/140 quiet today and mounted them, i started to play crysis again and temp is up to 70-80 celsius on my cpu (hot day in Denmark today).

I have a i7 870 oc'ed to 3.52 ghz and it's 100% stable (can't remember how high vcore is) a cooler master v8 and 2x4 gb blue kingston hyper x.

I need when i have sold my old case, psu, soundcard, nanaoxia fans and v8 cooler to get something more efficient, but still silent, quiet, to cool my cpu.

The guy who sold me a modular psu has a Noctua NH-D14 for sale and i have though about the maintenance free watercooling solution for my cpu, like the cooler master seidon 120m , corsair h55 or higher and mabye something from antec, it has to be silent/quiet and more efficient then my cooler v8 limited i don't know, i just know that 100€ is way to much

What would be a good solution for me?

Well first off you should check the voltage on your CPU asap.
In terms of air cooling you have 3 choices.
Noctua nh-d14 , Thermalright Silver Arrow SB - E Extreme and Phanteks ph-tc14pe.
These 3 are roughly the best AFAIK, the differences in performance between them are minimal but one thing is certain , the Noctua is the most silent of the bunch.
As far as water cooling goes... these sealed no maintenance systems dont really perform better then the air coolers, roughly the same if not weaker and they are way more expensive, i would advise against them. A custom water cooling solution is the best, but its gonna cost you more then your system is worth.

Performance and cheap - especially demanding quiet - are antonyms.

Reviews will show that any of the all-in-one kits will not perform better than what you have. Just possibly quieter.

If I understand right, all the same except the case and now temps are up right? If so, cpu cooler is not your problem. Case airflow setup, or lack of, is your problem. Time to revisit fan setup, maybe get more, maybe chamge what fans are exhaust or intake, maybe upgrade case fan.

That said what do you have in your case and how are they mounted and flow direction?

The 100euro limit is making this tough too lol

finally got home and had the chance to get online and look at specs - definitely found some info you need to look at

Your old Nox fans were 47-48cfm fans. the corsairs are 39-40cfm. Huge loss there. In addition, you are using 3 of 7 fan ports!!!! You dramatically reduced airflow with the new fans, and not using anything to compensate even though you have the ports to do it! And I don't even know how many fans you had in your old case to really compare and see how badly your airflow got nicked.

Front 2x 120mm intake fan
Rear 1x 140mm exhaust fan (compatible with 120mm)
Top 2x 120mm/140mm fan mount - set exhaust
Side 1x 120mm/140mm fan mount - set intake
Bottom 1x 120mm/140mm fan mount - optional - will explain below

That case is designed for silence with massive acoustic cancelling material and solid tight panels. Using negative air pressure to encourage the natural convection currents and utilizing the above layout of fan flow will increase cooling potential of your entire case - not just cpu, but gpu, VRM and mobo chipset. Negative air pressure is a matter of higher cfm exhaust than cfm intake.

Ex if you want to keep with corsair af silent series:
2x120 exhaust top = 79cfm
140 exhaust back = 67cfm
2x120 intake front = 79cfm
1x120 side (recommended for proper gpu cooling) = 39cfm
this results in 146cfm out with 118cfm in. ideally you want to stay withing 50-60cfm difference. So you could use that case BUILT IN fan controller to SLIGHTLY reduce front intake fans to create closer to 100cfm in.

Attend to your fan issues, make sure you have solid wire management (bad management kills good airflow), and make sure that your cooler is still properly seated after the move (moving can sometimes cause shifting or pop TIM seal due to PCB bending) and I guarantee you will see far better results

cant edit due to TOM's server hamster falling off the wheel again, but psst.... use that fan controller to turn down fans when not gaming for quiet, and crank when gaming for performance - That's what it is there for!

Seasonic G-650 that i have is a modular psu, just have to optimise it a bit more (hide the cables)

make sure that your cooler is still properly seated after the move (moving can sometimes cause shifting or pop TIM seal due to PCB bending) and I guarantee you will see far better results

I thought that to, i might have to clean it and put some new paste on my cpu/cooler

true - but look at their test setup vs what you have. Big difference in case airflow. that and we dont know if ambients can be compared. if top fans are installed it is not just a gimmick and becomes very useful

Plus you were looking at the stock page - go to the next page for overclocking
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6479/nanoxia-deep-silence-1-case-review-you-asked-for-it-you-got-it/6

you can't tell me 4-6c change is negligible 61c with chimney closed, 57 with open - that says to me not a gimmick

I have taken my cpu cooler out, couldn't find my artic paste so i used the cooler master paste, i now have a problem where i can't tighten 2 nuts under my mb, because the holes is now to round (its the braket that goes on the bottom of my cpu cooler) http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/cooling/cooling-accessories/intel-retention-bracket-set-for-lga1366-1156-775.html

I just can't find it any where in europe and denmark where, using google i found it on amazon in australia.

I thing my temperatures went down, not shure because my bios "oc" setting got reset

Temperatures are now okay about 60 degress, there was something wrong with the cooling paste, the mounting or both, still need this Intel® Retention Bracket Set for LGA1366/1156/775 so i can tighten my cpu cooler

hmmm I had a feeling about that the other day when i mentioned it lol - wondering if it was stripped before and wasn't holding down to make full contact - dunno what to tell ya about finding it. No way to order from US company and have shipped?
