Why are you updating your bios? Is there a particular reason?

BIOS updates are only to 'fix' issues, they do not "improved performance" necessarily (unless you had bad performance to begin with). If the BIOS from the MANUFACTURER on the website says it will add support for another CPU, that would also be a good reason to, but no it won't automatically do it, unless they actually changed the BIOS.

Have you downloaded the instructions and the Windows Based installation file to do this? Usually it is a simple ZIP file with a prescripted EXE file that does it all for you. It is straight forward running the file, it reboots the PC, reprograms it, reboots again, and your back in Windows.
