I'm wondering If I'll be ok on BF4 on 720p with an sapphire radeon 7790 oc with the Phenom ii x4 965 BE, since the requirements are a quad core, 4gb ram, radeon 7000 series.

Battlefield 4 system requirements

The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:
•Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
•At least 2 GB main system memory
•Graphics card with at least 256 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
•20+ GB of harddrive space
•Windows Vista

Recommended system requirements

The recommended PC system requirements for optimal visual quality and frame rates:
•Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
•4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
•A modern DX11 graphics card with 1 GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
•Windows 7 64-bit operating system
•20+ GB of free harddrive space
I would think you should be able to pull at least medium settings with that rig at 720p. The reason you could not max it is because your CPU will bottleneck at that resolution. This is caused by the "mesh quality" graphics setting, which determines how far you can see spotted enemies. Plus, the lower the resolution, the more stress put on the CPU. The Phenom line is extremely solid, but games are beginning to catch up with it. However, in servers with lower player count, like 24 man or 32 man, mesh quality should not be an issue.

Yes, but those system requirements are extremely vague - you can't go off them. For example, a 7750 is "A modern DX11 graphics card with 1 GB of video memory, Radeon 7000 series" - but that sure as hell won't be the recommended card when sysreqs are finally released.
Furthermore, the AMD X4 640 is a "Quad core CPU at 3ghz" and that sure as hell won't be powerful enough either.

Early sysreqs such as this are always too vague to trust - you have to use your own initiative.

Man the forums are messed up right now. They won't let me update a post. This is what it was supposed to read:
"Never go by sysreqs. Go by benchmarks. Always. Lesson of the day? I would NOT suggest building a PC for a game before it comes out. That doesn't necessarily apply in this situation, however I think it should be noted."

I know :( It's a shame really. Hopefully it'll be sorted.

I like helping people, and it stresses me out too much when we physically can't help because of the dreaded 404.

I have a lot of spare time, too. I spend it mostly on here.

I realize that they are vague. If you read real closely is says "expected to be".
