Did u repeat the installation progress for 2-3 times? You may check out if all the components are correctly installed and the connection & the conjunctions are right.

Probably the mobo problem if your RAM, DVD drive and the HDD drive are alright.

Please let me know in the morning. If you're positive on a solution in the morning Ican fix it. I don't mind buying new parts as long as I'm not wasting money on parts that aren't going to fix the problem. So please help in the morning.

I don't want u to buy new parts. As u'r a builder u might have some old SATA Hard Disk for trying, I mean.

The PFN_LIST_CORRUPT is a very rough problem. Here is where I've find out in Microsoft MSDN Libraby: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559014(v=VS.85).aspx

According to the description the problem is either from your hardware or from your memory or both. I think the memory may be the first, to activate the Memory Diagnostic Test from Windows 8 DVD, u could follow these steps:

1. Boot your build-up with Installation DVD
2. The first page of installation wizard/application should be the language option, cilck "Next"
3. The second page should show a big button "Install Now", on the bottom left there should be a option "Repair your computer" , click it.
4. Next, click on System Recovery Options. In the System Recovery Options box, choose Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.
5. In the next dialog box , click "restart now and check the problems (recommended)"
6. When your computer boot up on the Memory Diagnostics Tool, the first step should be options. Press tab key to choose options. Sinc there may be flaws in your memory. Please choose "Extended" option and press Enter.

If there were no problem by running this tool. There may involved driver conflict or Hard Disk Drive problem (since u have been encountered).

I have thought it over and the technical information of PFN_LIST_CORRUPT has convinced me that the problem is largely on the memory. Plz download memtest86+ from http://www.memtest.org/ and burn it to your disc or usb flash drive and run this problem (use your disc or flash drive to boot)to check if there is problem on your RAM

Use ctrl+f and search "Memtest86+ V4.20 (25/01/2011) " on the site, choose "downloading Download - Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7) *NEW!*" or "Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)" and using ultraISO to burn to USB flash drive.

ok im running the test right now. so far no errors. but it says on the mem test my processor name then it says H(ECC : Disabled) . does that mean my processor isnt working or does it mean its juste been disabled for the test?

Yeah I'm at work right now but when I go home tonight ill upload a picture to the forums so you can see it all.

If it comes down to needed a new mobo or ram I don't mind because I have warranties on every part of my system. I just wanna make sure before I request an RMA from newegg
