Upgrading my old piece of dirt router and was looking at the new AC wireless routers. Currently we have 2 Tablets 3 Smartphones and a gaming computer. We have a cable connection (26MB/s). Should also add that I have an AC wireless adapter for the gaming computer. We are running on a 802.11 G router right now and the only real issue I run into is when someone is streaming video on the second floor (I am in the attic wireless router is in the basement). Basically I just want to know if I should even bother with the AC routers or just go with N. At this point the two routers I was looking at were from Asus and the AC was only $20 more. Thanks for the input.

WiFi-N is the norm right now. In my opinion, AC is for near gigabit, and gigabit connections mainly. A good N-router will work very good, and lag less.
