I need some help here,
first of all, I'm using a WinXP Professional SP3 w/ RealTek HD Audio.

I just bought a new PC and realize that the audio output separately.

I had speakers connected to the back panel and headset to the front panel.

But the output is what strange, the Left Output are on the speaker but the right output are on the headset.

How do I setting it to either one not both?

.
If anyone want to know my spec:

Motherboard: ASROCK H77M
Processor: INTEL i3 3220
VGA: ASUS NVIDIA GT640 DDR3 1GB
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 2x4GB
HDD: WD Caviar Black 2TB
Speaker: SIMBADDA CST9000 (Been using it since 2006 with no trouble before)
Casing: COOLERMASTER K-380
PSU: SEASONIC 520W +80 Bronze

Solution
It sounds like the ports are setup for surround sound speakers where they have each output going to a specific speaker side, but it's very strange that it's working half from the speaker jack and half from the headphone jack. Is there a reset on the Realteck software?
That is very strange. Unplug one of them, are both sides working then? In 30 years of working with computers I have never seen a system do this, unless you have the speakers plugged into a surround sound output that is configured for just one speaker side.

Or are you saying that both sides of the speakers work but they are just giving you one side of the stereo mix in both speakers?

Yes, I've tried to unplug either one of them.

If I unplug the headset, the speaker still only had output on the left one. And the same happens when I unplug the speaker, there's only sound coming out from the right headset.

When I tried to test the output using Realtek, the left one comes from the left speaker and the right one from the right headset.
Tried again with the speaker unplugged, there's no respond to the "left sound test" but the "right sound test" comes out from the right side of the headset and vis versa. :/

I also tried to check if I had it connected to the wrong port on the motherboard, but its all set right.

I will try with other speaker (when I got one, hope it'll be sooner) :(

Ok. finally found out what caused it and now i feel really stupid >.<

Thanks to mr/ms "hang-the-9" for the help and responses. :)

Its actually just me plugging the wrong cable... AC97 instead of HD (need to take a closer look since the words on the cable are so small)
