Hi All,

It's been a very long time between builds and the array of options is very daunting. This machine will be used mostly as a Linux system for software development and gaming with a touch of Windows gaming for the non-Linux titles:

- Case: Cooler Master Elite 334U
- PSU: CoolerMaster Silent Pro M2 720W
- MB: Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4
- CPU: Intel Core i7 3820
- RAM: Kingston KHX2133C11D3K4/ 16GX 16GB 2133MHz DDR3
- SSD: Intel 335 Series 240GB SSD SSDSC2CT240A4K5
- HDD: Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM 6Gb/s SATA
- GPU: MSI GTX 770, 1098Mhz upto 1150Mhz, 2GB
- Monitors: 2x ASUS VX238H
- ODD: Pioneer BDR-208DBKS

Keep in mind that this is a more general purpose 'bang for buck' machine. It currently sites at ~AUD$2350. I'm happy for that price to go down without significant loss of performance or up if there is an appreciable gain in performance.

The CPU/MB combo has been chosen for the VT-D support (will run Windows in a VM), so if you have other suggestions for the CPU and/or MB, please keep this in mind.

I doubt I will bother too much about overclocking - It has ample gaming power as it is, and I'm not after every last FPS I can squeeze out.

I also have a HP MicroServer which has a pretty big RAID array, so local disk storage is not a big issue.

Any comments appreciated

Thanks,

Graeme
