Are you saying it is asking for a password from you when you first power it up.
If you are then there is a bit of a problem here.
First of all the Cmos clear won`t remove that password.
Second of all if it is the case we cannot help you as the laptop may not belong to you and has been stolen, and the very reason the password is on there in case it get`s stolen.

You would have to phone the maker of the laptop up, and even then they would ask you for proof that you are the owner of the laptop before helping you.
