I overclocked my OLD RAM DDR1 400 mhz RAM to 533 MHz. For the first week, it went really smooth. But now my PC hangs a lot and crashes at times. After switching it on, sometimes, it doesnt even boot. I manually have to set the jumper to config mode, start the bios and then restart and then boot.

What is happening? Is overclocking failing or something? Also, now the windows experience index rating has also gone down.

But why i overclocked it was because I realised that my system BUS frequency was 533 MHz, and ram was 400MHz. So I thought I should put that to 533 MHz. I did that and it worked really smooth. My processor's rating changed from 2.8 to 3.7, RAM rating went from 4.2 to 4.3 and graphics from 2.0 to 2.2 (I have an integrated ati x200 chipset).

And now I see a decrease in performance than before. Should I continue with 533 MHz or should I set it back to 400 MHz?

PS: I have a Pentium 4 511, 1.5 GB of RAM, intel D101GGC mobo.
