Let me start with the rig specs:

Intel i5 2500k processor
Gigabyte GA H67 D2 B3 motherboard
4GB Corsair Vengence RAM
Sapphire HD 7770 1GB card
Cooler Master extreme power plus 500 W

I have been using this rig predominantly for music production,I added the graphic card afterwards for a little gaming,I have been experiencing electrical shocks at the edges of the cabinet and even on the instruments that i connect either via USB or Mic and headphone out,I use a USB soundcard for recording and the shock passes through that and can even be felt on the guitar or synth or whatever connected that has metal.it can even be felt when using one of those metal like USB flash drives.after reading through threads over here and it seems quite common a roblem, the solutions derived were either improper earthing or to change the power chord to a three pin one ,I have proper earthing as I havent felt any shocks using my instruments without the PC and even after changing the power chord to a three pin the problem still persisted in my case, the last bit that i found was that the Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus series was supposedly not up to mark in its workability and highly unstable,so I can only pinpoint the problem coming from there,I am no expert so I need advice as I intend to change the PSU asap. if it is at fault, waiting for replies.

P.S also need to know if the Corsair GS600 W will be compatible with the above mentioned specification.

thank you.

It does sound like a crappy PSU problem, and the CM eXtreme series is known to be a bit flaky.

So long as it has enough connectors for your peripherals, (8 Molex, 6 SATA, 2 Floppy, 2 PCI-e), you'll be fine.

The case is not shocking you.
Its you discharging the static build up in your body.
The Chassis of the case is always grounded.

That is why when building a pc the PSU is put in, the cord is attached from it to the plug socket of the wall with the switch off. The anti static strap is clipped to the case as it`s grounded to avoid static build up from the body.

Change the case with the coated one. That electrical shocks come from the psu spread by the case.
Oh for the CM psu is not good coz the high ripple and noise. Try to research first before you buy something. That
corrsair PSU looks beter but i would recommend Superflower, you won't regret.
