Right so I've been trying to install an samsung 840 pro 128gb, SSD for the past 8 hours as of writing this. The SSD is brand new and empty, pretty much just out of the box, it shouldn't be a huge deal, but for some reason the SSD, OD and even my HDD's doesn't show up in the bios when I have SATA native mode turned to ACHI. Futhermore I get a huge message with "DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK" when I get to the point where it's suppose to read the windows disk in the OD and install a new version of windows.

Mobo: z68XP-UD3 rev 1.0
SSD: Samsung 840 pro 128gb
OD: Not sure, but I know it's working, It can run the OS disk so it's not the disk either.
Not sure any other Information is needed? But I'll throw it out there if it is.

So let me start by going into more detail with what I've tried to do and what I really need answered.
1. I got the z68XP-UD3 rev 1.0 mobo. It's been working fine up til now, I've had it for around 2 years now, give or take.
2. I used to have the SATA native mode set to EDI, as per default, but now I'm changing it to ACHI, because of the SSD.
3. As said I used to have the OS installed with EDI, which disables the ACHI driver, so I went and did the regedit change to enable the bios to install the driver. (http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/f...82-Change-from-IDE-to-AHCI-after-Installation)
4. As said I'm trying to install a fresh OS win 7 64 bit with ACHI on the samsung 840 pro SSD, the SSD got the newest firmware and it works when booted from my old HDD, as in I can freely access the SSD and transfer things to and from it.
5. When I've tried to install the win7 on the SSD I've unplugged all my HDD's and just left the new SSD, which I connected to the SATA3 stick on the mother board, the two white ones and it's running as master 0. I did not connect it to the GSATA port. I have the OD connected to a SATA2 port running as slave 1.
6. Now when the machine loads, the bios shows that nothing is connected to it, but when it continues to load I can see that the ACHI is installed and that it detects my SSD and OD, cdrom/dvd or what ever you prefer to call it.
7. As said when the machine is done with a 30+ sec long load screen where it tries to find the OS it just gives out the message "DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK."

So I would really like to know if this is a software issue with the F10 update, a hardware issue with the mobo or if it's the SSD.
I would also like to know why the BIOS does not detect any drives when in ACHI mode.
And most important of all.. try to get this issue fixed so I can use my PC properly again.

Solution
It might be a conflict. I suggest resetting the CMOS and try again. And if that doesn't work, try to boot with Marvell off

Hard to tell what is wrong and I think you are wasting too much time with this. Install windows on the SSD using IDE and try to switch to AHCI after that. Even so IDE is ok. You will not see any difference anyway in real life usage.
