This is the computer (Desktop version). I'm not really sure, but I don't think it specifies the socket type under 'Processor'? Eventually I would like to upgrade from a dual core to a quad core if that is possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

download and run a program called cpu-z, it will tell you the socket type right on the first page.

Actually, it says "Socket T" after each of the "Processor" possibilities, which is an alternate name for LGA 775.

You don't have it yet? You are in the process of buying it?
Why? This is ancient tech. Hope you got it for cheap.
