Any idea how Virtu MVP 2.0 allows connecting the screen to discrete GPU and integrated GPU , it would be great to know which connection is better for using Intel’s quick sync encoder?
i got the 1.0 version for free with my motherboard and it's ok, now the 2.0 version is out and i'm thinking of getting it, but i want to know more about it before i spend 49$ on it.

Solution
On the first versions of Virtu before MVP

Connecting to the onboard card allowed games to be rendered on the dedicated card(then the frame buffer is copied to the onboard card for display) while everything else worked on the onboard card(including quicksync encoding or watching videos/surfing the net ). This helps lower power consumption under normal day to day tasks, but costs some performance for games.

Connecting to the dedicated card let all games run on the onboard card, but when a supported quicksync program was run, it would work on the onboard. This option gives you the best game performance at the cost of power efficiency.

Both modes should be transparent to the end user.

MVP adds more features that are supposed to improve game performance, but I have not tested it yet. I would almost guess quick sync would be the same either way(either version).

Solution
Sorry to say I am not sure.

I know the game Starwars the old republic had some Virtu issues. They claim that they would make regular updates to support new games.

It may be worth contacting lucid directly to ask about game support in newer versions of the software.

i contacted them with a problem i had on the 1.0 version with CIVI 5, and it was a problem with my drivers, so it fixed that.
i guess i'll have to bug them again if i get the 2.0 version...

i got the 30 days trail version of the 2.0, I am planning to spend some time over the weekend, any recommendation regarding settings of hyperformance (Virtu MVP FPS booster thing...) and virtual sync (I waited like 2 years for someone to solve the tearing problem) ?
