So I'm doing some maintenance / cleaning on my old gpu in an attempt to improve performance and learn more about hardware.

I'm trying to find thermal pads, but there isn't much of a market for them.
I'm really not sure what size, thickness (1mm - 1.5mm sounds right?), or other properties I should be looking for.

I think that some of the stuff I search for is a substitute for thermal paste? I don't think that's what I want.. I have IC Diamond for the actual gpu / cpu heat sink. Here is a picture that illustrates what I'm looking for.

I found some on frozencpu.com but they cost ~$10 to ship and take a week to get here...

New egg, fry's, and micro center do not carry them.
Amazon has some but I really have no idea if any of these are viable for my needs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not 100% sure what you are trying to accomplish. Unless you are intending to replace the thermal paste, you shouldn't be disassembling your video card to that extent to clean it. Simply removing the dust should be adequate.

If you've gone that far, you should replace the RAM thermal pads and the thermal paste.

as long as the thermal pads are in good shape you can reuse them. just try to make them somewhat flat again. im pretty sure ebay and amazon have them for dirt cheap

I'm trying to do a very in depth clean. Yes, I was intending to replace the thermal paste. In addition, there was a lot of dust build up under the heat sink after I removed the cover and fan.

The thermal pads (circled in this pic I found http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=okyf0l&s=5) have an incredible amount of dust / hair around them. They're incredibly disgusting and even with my limited knowledge I can tell they need to be replaced.

I guess I'm trying to find suitable replacement pads. I posted some links in my OP but not sure what I need.
