First: i will try to be as accurate as possible, i was in stress mode, and dont remember everything perfectly. ( also the first time upgrading big like this)

So, today i wanted to upgrade my PC big time, I got a new mobo, CPU, and graphics. When I turned it on the pc it said that either some software was installed incorrectly, or that there is new hardware(im using my old HDD btw) . So i got the options - repair automatically- or-start windows normally. starting windows normally restarted it and it just started all over from there. Repair had 4 options: repair automatically - repair automatically+something? - reset the harddrive to the point where only windows is installed - backup all the files.

so i went with backup, but my single hard drive only had 40GB from 300 left, it gave me the option to save on another, but i only have one. Thats where i lost it and gave up. edit: I also tried the repair auto. option, but then the PC said it didnt know whats up.

what would you recommend, ( i would get a new hard drive and do a backup now, and then reset to just windows being on it, but it still scares me)

new question: resetting the hard drive to just windows being on it will probably fix it right?

does your motherboard have a coding screen on it that shows letters and numbers on it? look in your motherboard manual to find out what the codes mean that display on your motherboard. repair automatically

well i wouldnt call it letters and numbers, there were sentences. I also already tried repair automatically, which resulted in the computer having an error which it couldnt identify.

but if all else fails just buying a new hard drive and a new win7 will fix it right?
