I'm new to this DIY thing and I just want to start with a reliable motherboard. Both are in my price range, but I just want to know which one is better for overclocking, stability, etc.

Both are good for overclocking and are stable. I give the edge to Gigabyte only because it has better build quality. Don't get me wrong, the Extreme6 is a great motherboard. I have a few Z77 ASRock motherboards and I am NOT disappointed with them.

Ok so what I'm getting is that they are pretty much the same. I think I'll go with the Gigabyte since I do like the build quality and look of it.
