Hi guys, I'm new here and not exactly a veteran with building my own rigs. I had purchased certain parts and the Hypercool 212 from Coolermaster doesn't seem to fit into my mobo no matter which one i stick it in, it either gets into the way of the rams or one of the mobo cooling/heatsinks.

I gave the 212 to my friend and it works great for his setup. I'm currently shopping for another after market cooler and would be grateful if anyone could shed some light or even suggest a suitable heatsink for my situation. Thank you in advance.

My parts below:

Asus P8Z68-v/GEN3
i7-2600k
Cosair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
Coolermaster K281 case claims to have maximum 160mm height clearance for cpu cooler.

Thank you for your reply.

I must have been mistaken, it's been a long time been using the stock cpu cooler for a while now. Perhaps it was one of those blue heatsinks on the mobo or something else that prevented me from mounting the 212.

My friend suggested I consider the h100, not sure if they will work with my K281 case though.

Splendid
i have the CM 212 on an i5 2500k on the exact same motherboard (which has been a great overclocker btw). it fits fine. I use a haf 912 case so I have more room for height. why would yours not fit. what issue did you have
