So I ran out of ideas trying to get it to start. I thought it was the ram since the dram light was on. Tried on another computer and it worked flawlessly. Got it to start and the cpu temp was extremely high even with the fan on? So i decided to reseat the cpu and put new thermal grease. Still the dram light on. Took out the ram and tried and 1 long beep and 2 short ones that keep going. any opinions. Is it the cpu..? board? Thank you

Solution
Try with a single stick in slot 1 closest to CPU, if OK do same with another stick (not sure how many sticks you have, would guess three)...If each boots by itself, try with sticks in 1-3-5...let me know CPU and model(s) of DRAM

I triedthat and I have 2 sticks, I even tried different brands of ram. I have Corsair corsair xms3 cmx4gx3m1a1333c9 which is this http://www.corsair.com/en/memory-by-product-family/xms-classic/cmx4gx3m1a1333c9.html.. I've had this build for more than 3 years and it all of a sudden stopped working. I have an Intel i7 950 which is this one. http://ark.intel.com/products/37150

Tried that when it actually booted, even replaced the cmos battery. The comp turns on but doesn't boot anything, no display, tried a diff one, no light on my keyboard, tried another no luck, my mouse light is always on though. Even tried a new HDD that had win7 on it. no luck still.

Tried it all.. I even jumped the PSU using the paperclip. All fans turn on no problem.. mobo or cpu problem :( One quick thing though. I see that on my cpu fan,(oem fan) one of the mounting clips is broken off. Can that be a possibility. No damage to the mobo though. Just the clip itself on the fan.

Well I got to the point where i took off everything and rewired it all up. Followed your guide til the RAM part. After installed the 1st stick no more beeps, but the MemOK light is on again. Tried a diff stick and same thing. (yes I pushed the button after lol) no fix. It can't be the RAM though because I also tried a new stick of RAM as well and still no luck. What can it be?
