Hello,
My name is Avery, and i have a slight issue with my most recent build. I have completed my newest pc build, all in case and working. My graphics card and system fans are running perfectly, as i can choose thier speed with the flick of a switch! HOWEVER, my standard CPU/Heatsink fan is not running nor spinning.. I know it is not good for ym cpu to be heated without a cooling mechanism in direct contact. Please help as soon as possible. Every hint or How-to would be greatly appreciated!

No, no harm letting it run at full speed... other than constant loud fan noise. In fact, it will cool the CPU better. If you decide to run it that way, you can usually set the SYS FAN header that you are plugged into to switch to a lower speed in BIOS... depending on the sophistication of the BIOS.

But I'm really surprised the MB even allows the system to run when it doesn't see a fan plugged into the CPU FAN header. No PWM feedback should tell the MB that the fan has failed and then shut down the system in a matter of seconds/minutes. If the MB is still under warranty, I would suggest RMA'ing it back to the retailer if within time limits... or contacting the MB manufacturer for repairs or a new board.

1) check that the fan is securely and correctly plugged into the 4 pin CPU FAN header
2) Try cooler's fan in any 3 pin or 4 pin SYS FAN header to see if it even runs.

If (2) fails, then the cooler's fan is defective... If the fan runs, then the MB is defective.

Alrighty, so i have the CPu 4pin plugged into the "Systfan2" that is closest to the fan, and it runs perfectly but loud and at the same speed. It just wont seem to run on the actual CPUFAN connection... please tell me this isnt a faulty mobo:/ lol. I appreciate your help though ahead of time:)

Well, unfortunately I can't think of any other reason the fan won't run when plugged into the CPU FAN header. The difference between headers (besides pin count) is that the CPU FAN header is a PWM controlled header. The SYS FAN headers are either always at +12V or have variable voltage control in BIOS. The point being, that the PWM control probably isn't working.

Right now the SYS FAN headers are probably at max voltage and the fan is running at its full (noisy) speed.

PWM = Pulse Width Modulation
