I have a Sony KDL40EX723BU tv and my speakers are shagged and i was wondering if i could get a male to male 3.5mm aux cable and plug it into the head phone jack in my pc and connect it into the jack at the back of my tv it has a (PC in (D-Sub) + Audio in (Stereo Mini)) or get a aux male to a red/white scart male???

I would recommend that you use HDMI instead. Most motherboards have HDMI outputs which are driven by the IGP (if present), and failing that, almost all graphics cards have them now too.
