Hey guys,

Choosing between these two brands of GTX 760s:

MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745
EVGA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932

MSI comes off as the coolest and quietest running, but the EVGA has a bigger clock out of the box, and I have also heard that it may have some coil whine issues.

I think a lot of us have read or know how good EVGAs service is with their cards, and it really is the thing holding me back from going all out with the MSI.

Is the EVGA worth the +$10, service, and possible coil whine?

Or if you favor another brand/card, I would like to know.

Thanks :)

Solution
MSI it is. Much better cooler with lower temp, lower noise. Clock is only 2% lower than EVGA's, which won't make any significant different in performance. It even get you a game for free.

I would recommend a ASUS Direct CUII card. They are practically silent. I love mine.

I don't think you could go wrong with either MSI or EVGA. However I would highly recommend ASUS due to their cooling solutions and manufacturing process.

Read this page about their Super Alloy Power Technology:

Interesting that you should recommend the ASUS card. From what I've seen it is one of the hottest and noisiest and weakest performing 760's.

I'm going for the MSI I think :)

I've actually went for the MSI, myself. A very beautiful card and the benchmarks don't lie. This thing is both very cool and very quiet for the power it provides. I can pretty much max out on Borderlands 2, Starcraft, Sims 3, and some others. I love it.

My only regret? Not getting a 770 that had the same design! Make with what you have, I suppose. Didn't have much to spend anyway... Perhaps when I upgrade in the future they will have just as good or better cards such as this one.

I have personally tested the MSI and PNY, Surprisingly I get 10 to 12 more FPS in battlefield 4 multiplayer with the PNY but it's so loud. MSI is quiet and good looking
