That depends on how you use your PC and what applications, games etc you plan on running on it.

Again Intel, it's more powerful now and will always be, plus it OCs better, but a 5 year span, depends on the person.....PCs are constantly changing and game/app requirements continue to grow - there is no future proofing at this point, DDR4 is around the corner and will bring a change to basically all systems in a year or so

Well, with the limit of $200, the Egg has the PowerColor 7870 at $199.99 and free shipping (so I saved you a penny ;) )...which is pretty decent GPU, OC's pretty well, used a couple of these, beyond that, your looking at a 7850, which is a good GPU and there are numerous models available

I don't have any problem to speak of with their GPUs, but won't touch their mobos, poor QC/support... and it's just a me thing to keep on/under budget and leave it to my clients to then see if they want to change it, so try and do same here, unless a specific question is asked, I try and hop around this place a lot...for others, building is a learning process, so unless something is out of whack and things look reasonable, I tend to go with their picks rather than changing things they have worked (oft times hard on)

I'm Canadian and know how you feel. About a decade ago the Canadian dollar was worth around 50 cents US. So $300 cards cost $600 Canadian.

I remember buying a 9700 Pro, followed by an x800XT PE then a 1900XTX and then my 8800 Ultra back then. Each one cost twice the amount they did in the USA.
