Hi. I have a beast of a gaming computer which I built myself 2 years ago. It can run pretty much any game on ultra with no problems. I played games like Crysis 2, Dishonored, BF3 they all started to lag, even League of Legends. Any game I get into lags. I used to ger 60+ fps in LoL, when I was in a game recently I started to get 10fps and kept jumping around to 30, 20, 50, 60, etc. Horrible, horrible lag. I haven't gamed for at least 3 months at all, maybe a league game a few weeks ago, but it ran great. Now I wanted to play my games and this happens. I know it isn't an overheating problem as it started to lag even in the game menu of dishonored and the gpu temp was only at 50 celcius. And in game it got to 65 celcius.

These are the temperatures while in game:

I figured my gpu drivers might be out of date, which actually were, so I updated them to no avail.

This is my pc build:

CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE
GPU - XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB
M/B - Asus Crosshair V Forumla
SSD - Corsair Force F120 120 GB
HDD - Western Digital Black 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB)
CPU Cooler - CORSAIR H90 Liquid Cooling
Power Supply - OCZ ZX Series 850W

I'd really appreciate it if someone could offer some insight, from your experiences or knowledge. Thanks!

Could be anything but It could be your GPU, well it was for me anyways. All you can really do is try to test everything out individually until you figure it out whats the problem, sorry couldn't be anymore help, just had the same problem as you before, that's all.

I solved the problem! I ran a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan and it found some adware. After removing the adware it fixed my problem! Thanks for your reply.
